How to Market Your Business Online Without Spending a Penny

Information Technology Blog - - How to Market Your Business Online Without Spending a Penny - Information Technology Blog

Take a minute to think about all of your business expenses. There’s rent, utilities, stock, employee wages, office supplies, and more. The list goes on and on. With so many outgoings, wouldn’t it be nice to remove one outlay from the equation? Well that’s possible with your marketing budget.

That’s right: you can conduct all of your promotional efforts without needing to splash the cash. All you need is an internet connection, a plan, dedication, and some ingenuity. Of course, this doesn’t take into account the fact that time = money, and you will need to invest a sizeable chunk of time to produce a successful marketing campaign.

With that said, it’s time to explore the ways to market your business for ‘free’:

Social Media

It’s social media. It doesn’t need any explanation. You know it’s free to use; it’s free to set up a business page on the likes of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and you can instantly start advertising your products/services.

To ensure your social media efforts are worthwhile, there are various aspects to consider. For instance, you need to have a regular output of content to maximize your reach. Aim for at least one post daily on all social media platforms. Don’t forget to engage and interact with others. Also, remember that videos and images are the best way of grabbing the attention of those scrolling through their social media feeds.

Have a Website? Look at SEO

Okay, running a website will generally incur a cost of some kind. However, if you already have a website up before these marketing efforts begin, does the site even count as a marketing-related expense? For the sake of this article, just answer ‘no’.

Anyway, if your website is simply a run-of-the-mill business page with an ‘About Us’ section, contact details, and so on, you’re leaving a lot of untapped potential on the table. With an active blog and the implementation of search engine optimization (SEO) tactics, you could begin reaching a whole new audience.

No matter how many guides you read, understand that SEO is a complex and ever-evolving beast. It’s difficult to harness its potential and rise up the Google ranks without being an expert. With that in mind — and although it goes against the ethos of this article — don’t be scared to hire a local marketing company to do the heavy lifting for you. If you live in Essex for example, simply do a quick search for digital marketing companies in Essex, and select the best option for your needs. It’s recommended to go with a local marketing company as they will typically supply greater personal service, and they also have the ability to tap into their relationships with local media.

Get Listed Locally

Getting your business locally listed on Google My Business brings with it a number of advantages. Firstly, your company is easier to find during Google searches. Your business will also appear on Google Maps. Then once your website is represented via this local listing, begin asking your customers to leave favorable reviews.

If you rack in a series of five-star ratings, other potential clients will be more inclined to place their trust into your company.

Google Places isn’t the only show in town, either. Don’t forget to add your business to Yahoo Local as well.

9 VCs in Madrid and Barcelona discuss the COVID-19 era and look to the future

Spain’s startup ecosystem has two main hubs: Madrid and Barcelona. Most observers place Barcelona first and Madrid second, but the gap appears to close every year. Barcelona has benefitted from attracting expats in search of sun, beach and lifestyle who tend to produce more internationally minded startups. Madrid’s startups have predominantly been Spain or Latin America-focused, but have become increasingly international in nature. Although not part of this survey, we expect Valencia to join next year, as city authorities have been going all-out to attract entrepreneurs and investors. The overall Spanish ecosystem is generally less mature than those in the U.K., France, Sweden and Germany, but it has been improving at a fast clip. More recently, entrepreneurs in Spain have moved away from emulating success in pursuit of innovative technologies. Following the financial crisis, the Spanish government supported the creation of startups with the launch of FOND-ICO GLOBAL, a €1.5 billi...

Emulating USB Dongle – Introducing HASP Dongle Emulator Software

Information Technology Blog - - Emulating USB Dongle – Introducing HASP Dongle Emulator Software - Information Technology Blog Over the years the methods used by software developers and producers to limit the amount of users to a specific number in a licensing agreement have become more complex.  The aim of copy protection is to protect the intellectual rights and financial investment of the individual developers and manufacturing companies.   A way of getting around this protection is to reproduce the media through which you can deliver the application to other users,  meaning that the software can be replicated far in excess of that specified in the license. One of the most common methods has been to use hardware keys or dongles which will enable the user to activate an application, unlocking its full functionality without using a device.  In addition, it offers good protection against attempts to pirate the software. In this article, we will look at th...
