PUBG Mobile Ban Won’t Be Lifted, Says Indian Government

As per an InsideSport report, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India (MeitY) has no intention of lifting the PUBG Mobile ban in the country.

The developers of PUBG Mobile, PUBG Corporation, were recently in talks with Reliance Jio for a partnership, which gave PUBG fans a sliver of hope. However, with this new development, it seems unlikely that the ban would be lifted now.

PUBG Mobile Ban In India: Recap

It all started in the month of June due to rising tension between India and China at the border. Later on, the Indian government decided to ban a total of 188 Chinese apps over national security concerns. The ban included both PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite.

PUBG Mobile developers, which is the PUBG Corporation, then decided to break its licensing ties with Tencent in India. After breaking ties with China’s Tencent, PUBG Corp. started looking for an Indian partner to bring their popular battle royale back in the country.

PUBG Corp. was in talks with Reliance Jio for a long-term partnership to look after the distribution of their game in India. The officials from both sides were also in discussion regarding the different aspects of the deal.

InsideSport reached out to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), and as per the information conveyed to them, MEITY is not looking forward to unbanning any of the 118 banned apps in the country.

Is This The End Of PUBG Mobile In India?

The Indian government has made it crystal clear that it is not going to unban PUBG or any of the other banned Chinese apps. A few days back, PUBG Corp. officials mentioned that they will try to get in touch with the Indian government for a possible solution.

They also stated that the company is willing to operate the game in the Indian region by fully complying with the country’s laws and regulations. However, PUBG Crop. has not initiated any discussion with the Indian government officials to date.

Personally, I think that PUBG Mobile was one of the major reasons why India was moving forward in the eSports domain. It had a significant chunk of the player base and was doing well in the Indian market as well.

The ban is not only a huge blow to PUBG Corp. but, also to the young talent in the country; be its pro players, content creators, influencers, or the tournament organizers.

9 VCs in Madrid and Barcelona discuss the COVID-19 era and look to the future

Spain’s startup ecosystem has two main hubs: Madrid and Barcelona. Most observers place Barcelona first and Madrid second, but the gap appears to close every year. Barcelona has benefitted from attracting expats in search of sun, beach and lifestyle who tend to produce more internationally minded startups. Madrid’s startups have predominantly been Spain or Latin America-focused, but have become increasingly international in nature. Although not part of this survey, we expect Valencia to join next year, as city authorities have been going all-out to attract entrepreneurs and investors. The overall Spanish ecosystem is generally less mature than those in the U.K., France, Sweden and Germany, but it has been improving at a fast clip. More recently, entrepreneurs in Spain have moved away from emulating success in pursuit of innovative technologies. Following the financial crisis, the Spanish government supported the creation of startups with the launch of FOND-ICO GLOBAL, a €1.5 billi...

Emulating USB Dongle – Introducing HASP Dongle Emulator Software

Information Technology Blog - - Emulating USB Dongle – Introducing HASP Dongle Emulator Software - Information Technology Blog Over the years the methods used by software developers and producers to limit the amount of users to a specific number in a licensing agreement have become more complex.  The aim of copy protection is to protect the intellectual rights and financial investment of the individual developers and manufacturing companies.   A way of getting around this protection is to reproduce the media through which you can deliver the application to other users,  meaning that the software can be replicated far in excess of that specified in the license. One of the most common methods has been to use hardware keys or dongles which will enable the user to activate an application, unlocking its full functionality without using a device.  In addition, it offers good protection against attempts to pirate the software. In this article, we will look at th...
